I’ve bought and used many steam cards before, and they’ve all worked fine. A while ago, someone bought me a $50 card, but I didn’t need it then. I didn’t scratch off the thing on the back to get the code. Today, I tried to redeem it. I scratched off the thing in the back and put in the code, but it said that the code was invalid.

What does it mean when a credit card is already activated?
That means the card is already activated before they even sell it to you. There is a lot of potental for the card to have been used, or for the card to not have been properly activated. Unforunetly, Support will most likely be unable to assist you with this issue. The card was bought in a grey market, not an authorized retailer.
Why does my code say invalid on Steam?
Make sure you’re not mistaking 0 for O, 8 for B and etc. If it has any dashes in it make sure you type those in, too. Finally, make sure you don’t have any blank spaces before or after your code as that could cause Steam to call it invalid, too.
